making my own .50 cal conicals ?
« on: November 12, 2018, 05:16:03 PM »
Hey guys, I'm kicking aroung the idea of chasing elk again in Colorado next year but it seems that they are not allowing .50 PRB for elk anymore.  I don't really want to buy a .54 cal rifle so I guess I'll have to figure out conicals.  Does anyone cast their own? Do you have any advice for a conical greenhorn?

No problem ,get a Lee REAL mold cast with pure and stick a wad under it . It will amaze at how cheap the mold is and accurate you can be at 100 yds . Most of my 1-48 twist barrels like 80-90 gr 2f or 3f  OE . You can pan lube/wipe on with fingers any BP lube , crisco /lamb /beef tallow works . If your in a hurry I can hook you up with some (I cast a lot)Ed
