I bought this old gun

Being a lefty I don't normally buy RH guns but this one was special. A gun that doesn't come along every day made by a muzzleloading Icon, Hershel house

Icon and pretty good guy.....  Have spent quite a few camps with Hershel.  He still a down to earth Kentucky boy.  His brother is also not bad at the bench.

His iron mounted Southern guns are something to behold and even more fun to shoot.  I got in a TN vs KY grudge speed shoot at Friendship up by the cabin one year.  I was shooting with the TN group and we won.  The thing was everyone was talking about how fast Hershel could load using a loading block.  Well, he was fast and I beat him.  We laughed it off as I did not live in TN....  Good times at Friendship on the primitive side as always.

Funny story.....  He built a gun for a client who was scared to death it would be stolen so Hershel supposedly engraved this on the bottom flat of the barrel:  THIS GUN STOLEN FROM >>>> >>>>>>.  That's Hershel
